How to respond to negative AI citations

This guide walks you through how to spot and counteract negative or inaccurate AI mentions of your brand.

Step 1: Set up tracking

Sign up at geomind.app/app. Add your brand, 5-20 category queries that buyers ask AI ('best [category] tool', '[competitor] alternative', etc.), and the AI engines you want to track.

Step 2: Read the citation report

Within 1 hour, GEOmind has its first snapshot. Each query shows: citation count for your brand, citation count for top 3 competitors, source list, and delta vs the prior period.

Step 3: Identify the source surfaces driving competitor citations

For queries where you're not cited but a competitor is, GEOmind shows the source URLs the AI engine drew from. Reddit threads, G2 reviews, comparison blog posts, YouTube videos, news articles — these are your placement targets.

Step 4: Ship content into those source surfaces

Write your own G2 review. Comment on the Reddit thread (organically). Pitch the comparison blog. Get into the YouTube creator's next video. Submit to directories.

Step 5: Re-check + iterate

GEOmind shows delta over 7-30 days. If your placements drove citations, your share rises. If not, refine and repeat.
